Dr. Mark Mullaney, Senior Pastor Casting Off Restraint

Scripture: Proverbs 29:18 NIV "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law." Observation: The word "revelation" means "light" or understanding. As if a light has come on in a dark place. It is like the Word of God becoming more than just words on a piece of paper. The Words provide life to the person reading them or writing them. They initiate direction and action. When there is no understanding of the blessings and or consequences associated… Continue

Megan Foley Youth With A Mission: Teachers For the Nations

Right now I am in Tyler, Texas attending the YWAM school teachers for the nations. It is a school that trains teachers according to what is called the Principle Approach. The use the Bible as the source for showing us how to teach our children. This is going to be very different for me because I already have a year and a half of secular training in teaching, so I need to keep an open mind to this new method. I am living in a trailer with four other girls. My roomate is from Germany and her name… Continue

Megan Foley Youth With A Mission

Hello everybody, I wanted to let people know that I am going to be returning to YWAM in Tyler, Texas in late August. I am going to be doing a school called Teachers for the Nations. This school is to prepare teachers to teach according to biblical principles. I am going to be in the school for ten months. I will be helping in the classrooms at Christian Heritage School which is a k-12 school on the campus. This school will help prepare me to be a teacher, and prepare me to do missions trips to h… Continue

Megan Foley Christians expectations

I am reading Intercessory Prayer by Dutch Sheets, and it is a great book. I wanted to share a little with everyone that I thought was interesting.

"As many as 80 percent of those who consider themselves born again don't tithe, thereby opening themselves to a curse. Yet they are offended when someone implies that their lack of provision might be their own fault.

We don't forgive and still have the gall to think God will hear and answer our prayers.

Often, we eat poorly, do…

Harold Vann Snares

One thing I learned when I spent a summer in Taos, NM was to make rabbit trap. A rope, a whittled piece of wood and bendable tree is all we needed to build a snare. For a 12 year kid it was fun and exciting. It was something we did between chores and before night fall. And when morning arrived we were out and about to check to see what we… Continue

Harold Vann Doubt and Unbelief

Our faith in Christ is all we have. When it comes down to where the rubber meets the road our faith is the currency of our walk with Christ. This is evident by the amount of time we spend praying, reading the Word, and ministering the love of God in our lives. James writes about faith and works. He says faith without works is dead, but I will add that time in nurturing our faith encourages us to move closer to God and have confidence in His work in our lives.

What keeps us in a complac… Continue

Steve Dragswolf Care Less

Reading about David brings to mind just how important it is to continually give thanks to God for all He's done. The Psalms are all songs of thanksgiving, remembering men's shortcomings and God's amazing grace and patience in dealing with them. The act of consistantly giving thanks reduces the risk of forgetting all that God has done. I wonder how much I have missed, or forgot. Even worse, what major move of God have I missed out on in my life because I could basically care less about what Go…

Harold Vann Taking the Prayers of the Saints for Granted

For the past three months I have been dealing with an array of health issues.
In February I was admitted in the hospital for pneumonia and congested heart failure.
After a few days I was released but I have been an out patient since. My doctor was
concerned because my blood pressure was extremely high. He was diligent
and scheduled me for a battery of tests. So after three MRI's (casket practice),
a stress test, a bunch of blood tests, a dozen ultra sounds, he found an… Continue

Megan Foley blog blog blog

I don't really know what to write. I guess I will write a story about something amazing God did. When I was on outreach we went to Colorado and stayed with a host family. The father of the family had quit his job month before we came. He felt as though God told him to leave his job, and to just trust him. He told us about all the times God has come through for him. One day when we got back from a day trip, we got to the house and the father accidentally cut his hand while makin

Jesus First Welcome to Jesus First

Called By God

Jesus First began as a home fellowship in 2003. Our goal has been to learn what it means to make Jesus Christ first in every area of our lives. We desire to make Him first in our thoughts and prayers, first in our giving and first in our relationships. The second desire God placed on our hearts was to help one another understand and walk in the revelation and understanding of God’s calling for our lives. We spend so little time in Church as compared to everything… Continue
